The Palmetto Plant Eaters Club will be hosting their second vegan festival (aka VegFest) on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10am to 5pm at the Shelter Cove Community Park on Hilton Head Island, SC. The festival is expected to attract over 800 people from all around the Lowcountry including Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Beaufort, Charleston, Columbia, SC, and Savannah, GA. There will be ample vegan food from area restaurants, vegan beer and wine, music by two bands, speaker, vegan education and advocacy, merchandise, raffle, and entertainment for children. Nearly 60 vendors are registered to participate.
The event’s headline speaker is Gene Baur of Farm Sanctuary and the music will be provided by The Nice Guys and then Cranford Hollow. Signature Ruby Roth artwork t-shirts will be for sale. The goal of Lowcountry VegFest 2017 is to teach and show how fun and easy it is to eat and live vegan in the Lowcountry and why it is beneficial to personal health, the animals, environmental conservation, and humanitarian concerns such as global hunger. This event is free, open to the public, and will take place rain or shine.
